Numerology, answered
What is numerology?
Numerology is the study of the vibration and meaning of numbers. In the Indian (Vedic) and Chaldean systems, each number 1–9 is linked to a planet and a set of qualities. Your name and birth date reduce to core numbers that describe your nature, strengths and life journey.
How is a name's number calculated?
Each letter is assigned a value, the values are added, and the total is reduced to a single digit (1–9) — unless it forms a master number (11, 22, 33), which is kept intact. Our name checker does this instantly.
What is a Life Path number?
It is the most important number in your chart, derived by adding all the digits of your date of birth and reducing them. It describes the path and lessons you carry through life. Use the Life Path calculator to find yours.
What are master numbers?
11, 22 and 33 are 'master numbers' — they carry a heightened version of 2, 4 and 6 respectively. They bring greater potential but also greater intensity, and numerology leaves them un-reduced.
