Karmic debt numbers — 13, 14, 16 and 19
Four totals are read as karmic debt: 13, 14, 16 and 19. They matter only before reduction — a Life Path that reaches 9 through 19 is read differently from one that reaches it through 27. The tradition treats them as an account to settle, not a punishment.
How it is calculated: Look at the two-digit total before it was reduced. If it was 13, 14, 16 or 19, the debt is read alongside the reduced number.

Karmic Debt 13 — The Debt of Work
Reduces to 4. The account is settled by doing the work, in order, without a shortcut.
Karmic Debt 14 — The Debt of Freedom
Reduces to 5. The account is settled by moderation — freedom used with a limit on it.
Karmic Debt 16 — The Debt of Ego
Reduces to 7. The account is settled by a collapse that removes what was being defended.
Karmic Debt 19 — The Debt of Independence
Reduces to 1. The account is settled by learning to need people and to be needed properly.
