Numerology compatibility
How two numbers get along — scored from the natural friendships between their ruling planets, and written out for all 45 pairs.
Every number from 1 to 9 is ruled by a planet, and classical Jyotish records which planets regard each other as friends, neutrals or enemies. Numerology compatibility applies that same table to two people's Life Path numbers: the Sun (1) and the Moon (2) work naturally together, Saturn (8) and the Sun (1) do not, and so on through all 45 combinations.
A low score is not a verdict against a relationship. It says where the friction will predictably sit, which is more useful than a blessing — the hardest pairs in this table include some of the most durable partnerships, because the two people knew from the start what they had to be deliberate about.
The score below is calculated, not asserted: it comes from the planetary relationship table, applied in both directions, with a bonus where two people share a number. Each of the 45 pair pages then explains what that score actually feels like day to day.
How the calculation works

Find both Life Path numbers
Reduce each person's day, month and year separately, add the three, and reduce again — keeping 11, 22 and 33 intact. The calculator shows this working for both people.

Look up each planet's view of the other
A friend scores +25, a neutral +5, an enemy −25. Planetary friendship is not always mutual — Venus counts the Moon difficult while the Moon is neutral about Venus — so both directions are taken.

Combine and bound
Start at 50, add both directional scores, add 10 if the two numbers are the same, and clamp the result to a 5–100 range.

1 is ruled by the Sun, 6 by Venus.

Questions people ask
Does a low score mean we should not be together?
No. The score describes where two temperaments will predictably rub, not whether a relationship should exist. A 1 and a 6 who both understand that they measure a good life differently do better than a high-scoring pair who assume they will never have to try.
Which number should we compare — Life Path, mulank or name number?
Life Path is the standard for compatibility because it comes from the birth date and never changes. Indian numerology often compares mulank (birth day) as well; comparing name numbers is best kept for business names rather than people.
Why is 7 and 3 compatible but 5 and 3 difficult?
Because the scoring follows planetary friendship rather than surface similarity. Jupiter (3) and Ketu (7) are friendly; Jupiter counts Mercury (5) an enemy. Two lively, sociable numbers can still lack the gravity a long relationship needs, which is exactly what the table records.
Is this the same as kundali matching?
